School Age Daycare Program

Early Steps School Age Care Program

Early Steps Daycare implements a nurturing, inclusive play-based program.  Each classroom’s curriculum is planned based on the interests and individual needs of the children enrolled.  The curriculum includes age and developmentally appropriate activities that support the overall development of a child across all learning domains including cognitive, language, social, emotional, and motor (gross & fine) skills of the children as they participate in activities. All of our programs meet the guidelines set by the DEEC and are based on standards set by NAEYC and other professional organizations.

Caring for Your School Aged Children

It is our commitment to provide all children enrolled in our School Aged Program with a caring, safe, educational and fun environment.

We provide multiple learning experiences and opportunities for school age children to choose from individually and with their peers.

Children enrolled in our school-age program will be provided with fun and engaging activities based upon the ages of all children enrolled; these activities include but are not limited to art, writing, science, math, outdoor play, cooking, and language arts.

Age Specialized Staffing Care

Early Steps Daycare has a small school-age program that provides after-school and vacation day care for children between the ages of 5 years (or entry to Kindergarten) to 8 years (or until the end of 3rd grade).

Children enrolled will be provided with an afternoon snack each day (a morning & afternoon snack on vacation days), homework support when needed, and opportunities to participate in community service activities when appropriate and available.
