Early Steps Daycare is closed each year for the following holidays and professional development days listed below:

New Year’s Day

Memorial Day     

Juneteenth Day

Independence Day

Labor Day

Indigenous People’s Day

Veteran’s Day

Thanksgiving Day

Day after Thanksgiving Day

Christmas Eve: Close at 12pm

Christmas Day

New Year’s Eve: Close at 12pm

Inclement Weather Policy

Early Steps Daycare will make every effort to open every day during the winter season.  The program uses the weather-related announcements of the public school system in the same town/city/district as the program to make its inclement weather closure decisions.

Closure: Early Steps will make a decision by 6am based on public school closings and t he timing of the inclement weather and any full closures will be posted here on the website for families. 

Delayed Opening: If the local public school system has a delayed opening or will be closed for the day, Early Steps Daycare will open at 8:30am to allow ample time for the public streets and our parking lots to be cleaned and cleared. 

Early Closure: In the event of a forecasted and significant midday/afternoon/evening storm, Early Steps Daycare will close early in an effort to aid and allow ample time for everyone to get home safely. 

In incidents of early closure: the closure time will be decided by the Center Director and parents/guardians will be notified via telephone. 

Early closure notice will be provided at least one hour in advance to parents to pick up their child.

Please note that no credit or discount will be granted for delayed openings, early releases, or program closures; full tuition remains due in accordance with the normal payment schedule and due date.
